Calvin Coolidge said, “Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”
Persistence really does pay off. It may feel at times like things are not happening according to the timetable that we have in our minds, but I have every confidence that things happen at just the right time for us. Sometimes there are steps along the way and delays that give us experience, teach us important lessons, strengthen us, and prepare us for the pending success. It isn’t easy to wait. We may not understand the purpose in having to wait at the time. Hindsight is 20/20. It may seem harder to achieve our goals than we thought it would be. We don’t often know the reasons until after the fact. All I do know is that most things in life that are worth having are worth working for and yes, sometimes waiting for.
